Baselworld 2015 sees Bremont return to unveil its new watch launches for the year. The Jaguar MKI and MKII wristwatches, celebrating the iconic E-Type, will make their global debut and respond to a widespread demand for a more accessible version of the ‘Lightweight’ limited edition watch. Additionally Bremont expands its Boeing range with two new aviation grade titanium timepieces with GMT functionality, as well as extending the popular Z Series with the introduction of the ALT1-ZT. Finally, the U-22, taking its design cues from a high profile military project, adds to the existing U-2 range with fresh barrel colour and date design.
Bremont and Jaguar are cementing their long-term partnership following an overwhelming response to the creation of six Bremont chronometers which complement each of the six ‘continuation’ lightweight E-Type sports racing cars currently being built by Jaguar.
The new MKI and MKII watches are both dedicated to the road-going Jaguar E-Type which at its 1961 launch was not only the fastest production car in the world but, according to Enzo Ferrari, the most beautiful.
Much of Bremont’s DNA is deeply rooted in aviation. Co-Founders Nick and Giles English, both pilots themselves, set out to make high quality watches of classic design durable enough to withstand any pressures an aviator’s timepiece may endure. 2014 saw Bremont announce a partnership with an aerospace giant, The Boeing Company. Nick English explains, “Boeing is arguably the most famous aircraft company of all time and one of the world’s most innovative engineering leaders. With its one hundred years of aerospace achievement, Boeing’s history reads like the annals of aviation.” Having seen a fantastic response to the debut Model 1 and Model 247 timepieces Bremont is delighted to be presenting further additions to the range at Baselworld 2015.
Having been part of the launch collection back in 2007 the ALT1-Z has become an iconic Bremont timepiece over the years. This is a model which was designed with aviators and world travellers in mind and features direct aviation inspired design cues such as the artificial horizon indicator. The Z has also proven to be widely popular amongst the military squadrons Bremont works with, a significant and ever-increasing part of the Bremont business, and further to feedback from this sector Baselworld 2015 sees a new version launch in the form of the ALT1-ZT.
Baselworld 2015 sees the launch of the U-22, an extension of the U-2 collection which was originally designed for and inspired by the elite U-2 spy plane squadron. The new U-22 design is the result of a high profile military project
where Bremont was commissioned to update the original U-2, using the extensive testing history behind it, but built and custom-tested to specific requirements. Taking its design cues from this squadron timepiece the U-22
features a newly developed bezel design together with a new barrel colour and date design for the range.
