Adventurer, mountaineer and best selling author.
On 26 May 1998, Bear entered record books by becoming the youngest British climber to have successfully climbed Everest and returned alive. He was only 23 years old. Only three years earlier, he had a horrendous parachuting accident while serving the British Special Air Service (21 SAS) in Southern Africa, breaking his back in three places.
In 2003, Bear successfully completed another world-beating expedition, leading a team across the North Atlantic Arctic Ocean in a small, open, rigid inflatable boat. Bear has also written three best selling books and is the host of the hit TV shows: 'Born Survivor: Bear Grylls' for Channel Four in the UK, and 'Man Vs Wild' for US Discovery Channel.
