Bremont Ambassador John Romain is Director of the Aircraft Restoration Company at Duxford Airfield. The Aircraft Restoration Company is the place to visit when it comes to aircraft restoration and maintenance. Their international reputation for aircraft restoration places them head and shoulders above the competition. They have restored some iconic and historically significant aircraft such as the Bristol Blenheim, Hawker Hurricane, P-51 Mustang and Supermarine Spitfires.

DUNKIRK

Most notably, John provided and flew some of the planes in the current blockbuster Dunkirk film, including the MKI Spitfire, Messerschmitt 109 and the only flying Blenheim MKI left in the world. The RAF flew a total of 3,500 sorties at Dunkirk, shooting down enemy planes before they could reach the beaches. The Spitfire was fundamental to the 'Dunkirk Miracle', helping to save over a third of a million soldiers. Built for high speed manoeuvres, the Spitfire saw off the German Luftwaffe bombers, making escape possible for the men on the ground.
