When it comes to a Bremont NATO strap, our story takes us to Saint-Étienne, France, a region renowned for its centuries of weaving expertise. Ribbon-weaving was first established here during the Renaissance, when silk makers brought their craft north from Italy. To this day, it remains one of the few places in the world where traditional shuttle looms and specialist know-how stand strong.

Working with Julien Faure, a family-run mill established in 1864 and still overseen by the founder’s great-grandson, each Bremont NATO strap is woven on 19th-century shuttle looms — the kind that move deliberately, producing only a few metres of fabric a day. Each strap is the product of significant time, skill and precision.

To achieve the ideal balance of flexibility, strength and resilience, the exceptionally skilled team at Julien Faure adjust every variable, from the composition and dying of the yarns to the density and pattern of the weave. The result is a strap that is supremely comfortable, hard-wearing and colour-fast, maintaining its integrity through the toughest conditions. Its self-gripping fastening ensures a lightweight and secure, adapting effortlessly to the wrist.

First introduced in the Terra Nova Collection in 2024, our woven NATO strap epitomises Bremont’s pursuit of both comfort and durability. Following its success, it is now available across all three Bremont collections – Terra Nova, Supermarine and Altitude.
