THE GHURKA WELFARE TRUST
The Gurkha Welfare Trust delivers a package of care to Gurkha veterans and widows to ensure they can live with dignity. Their Pensioner Support Teams journey into the hills of Nepal on motorbikes, in 4×4 vehicles and on-foot to pay them a pension, check their health and deliver medication in their own homes. They’re also there in times of need, be it floods, fire damage or earthquakes, providing extra support to help these brave men and women get back on their feet.
The Trust provides an international standard of medical care for all Gurkha veterans and their families living in Nepal. They give this at state-of-the-art Medical Clinics, at Medical Camps, during home visits by specialist staff and arranging subsidised treatments at carefully selected national hospitals.
Working with local communities in remote villages, The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides access to education via the building of schools as well as providing access to clean water for thousands of people in the hills of Nepal.
