On the 70th Anniversary of the celebrated 1953 Le Mans race win where the Jaguar C-type finished first, second and fourth, Bremont introduces a new iteration of its original C-type watch, celebrating both the steel chassis of the iconic race-winner, while evocatively nodding to the innovation and beauty of the 1951 original.

Bremont focuses purely on beautifully made mechanical movements and every watch in our core collection has passed each of the rigorous precision tests necessary for the ISO 3159 chronometer designation. Every movement is finished to the highest levels of craftsmanship and all are guaranteed to within -4 and +6 seconds per day. For this reason Bremont is one of the few watch makers to offer at least a 3-year warranty on every timepiece.

Great Britain has a wonderful history when it comes to watch making and has probably been the home to more advances in horology than any other nation. Bremont is determined to play a pivotal role in the reinvigoration of this industry on British shores and as a result, Bremont manufactures parts at its Parts Manufacturing Facility. Every Bremont is hand built and tested before leaving the Henley-on-Thames workshop.
Description
Designed by British Jaguar car designer, aerodynamicist and artist Malcolm Sayer, the C-type was famed for its exceptionally fluid shape, and as with previous Bremont Jaguar timepieces, the Bremont Jaguar C-type draws inspiration from the car’s classic shape and design features.
The monochrome 43mm Jaguar C-type chronograph is a contemporary take on a motoring classic and adds to Bremont’s Motorsport Collection. The steel Trip-Tick® case construction with scratch resistant PVD treated case middle is completed by its bi-directional rotating tachymeter ring with the brushed finish a visual nod to the famous disc brake of the C-type, famous as it was the first ever race car to use this pioneering technology that is still used today.

Stripping the colour palette back to the original silver coloured chassis presents the Smiths gauge inspired sub dials and vintage details in an altogether refreshing and modern way, reminiscent of a reverse panda dial layout.

The screw down crown is engraved with the original Jaguar heritage Dunlop tyre tread, iconic to Bremont’s Jaguar range of watches.
a true piece of motoring heritage
Turning the watch over reveals its closed case back featuring a decorative coin depicting the Jaguar ‘Growler’ hood badge. A contemporary black leather racing strap complements the steel and black dial configuration.

a truly british collaboration
Bremont and Jaguar first collaborated during the launch of the cutting edge Jaguar C-X75 where they developed a unique, analogue dashboard clock. Since then the two iconic British brands have enjoyed a very special relationship producing various concept car clocks, supplying clocks for the Queen’s private fleet of Jaguars, as well as developing a wonderful series of watch designs honouring some of their most celebrated cars.
